NEET (UG) Result 2024

NEET (UG), which stands for ‘National Eligibility cum Entrance Test’ Undergraduate, was initially introduced in 2013. It is the largest entrance exam in India, conducted nationwide by the National Testing Agency (NTA) with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Are NEET Results out in 2024?

NEET Result 2024 was declared on 04 June 2024. A staggering 2.4 million students appeared in the test in 4750 centers across the country and abroad.

Step-by-Step Process to Check NEET Result

1. To check your NEET Result visit https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/

2. Click on the NEET Result (UG) 2024 tab, a new page will open

3. From the drop-down menu select your State and City

5. Click ‘View Details’

6. A PDF page will open

7. Check your result by searching Ctrl+f and enter your Sr. Number

The test was conducted all across India in 571 cities including 14 cities outside India for Indian nationals residing abroad. NEET test was conducted in the following cities outside India; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait City, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, and Singapore

The test was conducted in 13 different languages i.e. Assamese, Bengali, English Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Importance of NEET

NEET is mandatory to get admission in Medical Colleges for undergraduate medical degrees for all students of Higher Secondary Education or Intermediate. It is a combined test organized by the Government to skim the merit for higher medical studies.

NEET Exam Date

The NEET exam was conducted on Sunday 05 May 2024 from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm within India and outside India at once.

Number of Applicants appear in NEET Test

The total number of students who appeared in the NEET test was 2.4 million, out of which 1.3 million were qualified or clear the test.

Gender-Wise Analysis of NEET Result

As per the official count, the majority of NEET (UG) test takers were females which is 57.22%, whereas 42.77% males appeared in the test. This shows a very positive sign of female education and empowerment in the country.

High Competition in NEET

Every aspiring medical student dreams of studying at a reputable institution, but limited seats, especially in government colleges, make this challenging. As a result, many students turn to private institutions, where the tuition fees are often very high. This intensifies the competition for NEET exams, with students dedicating an entire year to preparation in the hopes of achieving top marks. The immense pressure can lead to stress and anxiety, with many students struggling to cope.

Cut off Score

NEET is a written MCQ-type exam consisting of questions from four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. Each subject has 50 questions, out of which attempting 45 questions per subject is mandatory.

Every correct answer is equal to 4 marks and every wrong answer is equal to minus 1 (-1) mark. So the total marks are 720, if a student gets exactly 720 marks he is considered as AIR 1 (All India Rank 1) which is a golden ticket to admission in prestigious Medical institutions. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours 20 minutes.
