Past Papers – Model Papers
Learning is an ongoing process for students and even for teachers, one can use any resource available to get knowledge for betterment. Past Papers or Model Papers are also a source of knowledge for students to get some insights about coming Board papers.
Most students get confused about whether to get past papers or model papers for preparation for exams. We will elaborate on some main points of both for understanding;
Past Papers
Past papers are papers from the last examination held by any board of education. It’s the easiest way to get a glimpse of what a coming paper would look like. Until and unless the concerned Board’s policy remains the same, coming papers will be prepared as per the previous pattern. But nowadays most of the education boards bar students from taking Question papers with them from the examination hall. The main reason behind this is that the boards are managing the Questions Item Bank for the preparation of upcoming papers. So they try to keep the “Items” which are questions, with them for future use.
Features of Past Papers
- Past papers are accurate as they were prepared by the Board himself
- They prepared according to the pattern of board exams.
- Past papers give a calculated distribution of marks for each question.
- Past papers are easily available on the Board’s website for free.
- Past papers are helpful for everyone whether an excellent or an average student.
- Past papers describe the depth of the syllabus covered during classes.
Model Papers
Model papers are now obsoleting from the market as compared to a decade ago when every student was trying to buy model papers from bookshops. Model papers prepared by some expert teachers as per their guesses, and as per previous practice of Boards of education. Teachers are well aware of how boards are preparing papers and what will be coming in the next papers, most of the time their guesses are correct.
But now boards have changed their policies, they try to give more diverse paper patterns. Especially Federal Board Islamabad has turned the entire system upside down. They introduced SLO SLO-Based Examination, where papers will prepared according to the concepts and knowledge of students not as per the syllabus of the class. Still boards of education upload model papers on their websites for ease of students.
Features of Model Papers
- Model papers are prepared as per the latest pattern.
- Accuracy, if provided by the board himself.
- Model papers are often as accurate as the original paper itself.
Climbing the ladder of higher marks every student should get a mix of both past papers and model papers. It’s a way to progress there is no disgrace in it. Here we will provide you with all available resources from the boards in a single place.
